Company ProfileEnvBoard is a project started in 1992 by Michael Wallace and James Daemar (deceased). The brief is a building panel that can be used for internal and external application that is FIREPROOF, WATERPROOF, VERMIN PROOF, SOUND PROOF and also USABLE TO THE BUILDING INDUSTRY. This had to be done using what was essentially non-recyclable waste paper, and the project had to be able to produce the product at equal to or less than the cost of existing plasterboard. All the above was substantially achieved. The product was originally patented under the name of Miracle Board, and was offered the PNEB grant to develop to commercial testing standards. This effectively meant that the product was selected above 700 other applications for the most effective and commercially viable re-use of paper CSIRO passed the product in the initial stages, and it was to the stage of commercial coupon testing with the CSIRO when the companies Managing Director, James Daemar fell ill. Due to managerial contracts this effectively halted all progress until his death in 1996 As at 1996 to the present interest has been flagged by a number of parties in undertaking the final development and Stock Market floats, but none have come up with a suitable package. Michael Wallace has now determined to take maters into his own hands, and has moved to Redland Bay, Brisbane in order to get this project finalized. He is selling some land to finance the initial stages himself, in order to put the project into a strong and marketable position.

The main characteristics are Fire Resistance, Water Resistance, Vermin Resistance, Sound Resistance and physical Strength. Of particular note is the potential to market this product as an ANTI-Terrorist product as well as an environmentally friendly item. The natural composition of the material in EnvBoard has a bullet proofing quality, which can be further enhanced to be highly resistant to projectile impact. More than this, the product is used in building in a similar method to Gypsum Board, which gives it an easier market access. Current market wisdom states that such characteristics in building products will give a clear and defined market and media presence to EnvBoard. Marketing and Publicity: Env Board is a dream product to market. It attracts its own publicity because of the physical properties of the panel. We take waste and make something useful from it that benefits everyone. There are many "lead in" comments to get publicity for Env Board. EG: If the steel beams of the World Trade Centre were wrapped in a one inch protective EnvBoard panels, they would have withstood a 45 minute exposure to 1300 degree Centigrade heat. Given this, the support beams would not have melted, and the towers would still be standing today.
